Weddings and celebrations

Northfield Hall has held a lot of weddings, mehndis, walimas, engagement parties and big family birthdays. We are licensed for the reception, not the ceremony, so book your ceremony elsewhere and celebrate with us afterwards. The whole hall seats around 200 at round tables with the floor still clear for dancing, or 300 in rows. You bring your own caterers and decorators, which is what keeps it affordable.

What you bring in yourself

The hall is a room, not a package. Most couples bring in their own people for the rest, and we are happy to work alongside them:

Caterers. There is no in-house catering and no corkage on food.
Chair covers, sashes, centrepieces and backdrops. The starlight backdrops and dance floors in our photos were hired in by the couple, not supplied by us.
A DJ or band. The PA is here if you would rather use ours.
Any alcohol arrangements, which need sorting out before the day.

One thing worth knowing early: setting up and clearing away is charged at the same hourly rate as the room, so a Saturday booking needs enough hours for the decorators, the meal and the clear-down. Tell us how your day is shaped and we will quote the whole thing rather than the middle of it.

Ask us before you book

Straight answers to the things that decide a wedding venue. Some depend on your day, and some the trustees are still setting down in writing, so ask and we will tell you plainly rather than leave you guessing:

Alcohol: whether you need a Temporary Event Notice, or whether we cover it
Curfew: what time music has to stop
Decorations: candles, confetti, balloon arches and fixings on the walls
Setting up the day before, and how that is charged

You are welcome to come and look round before you decide. Most people do.
